Source hierarchy

Sources are preferred in this order:

2. Civil-aviation authorities and official accident-investigation bodies
3. Airlines, airports, museums, NASA and other responsible institutions
4. Contemporary books, journals and established aviation databases
5. Community-maintained references, used as leads rather than sole proof of a disputed fact

Technical, safety and accident pages should cite the controlling report or document wherever it is publicly available. A source appearing in a list means it supports material on that page; it is not an endorsement of every statement the source publishes.

Dates and current information

“Published” means the page’s original publication date when it can be established. “Reviewed” means the factual content was checked on that date. Dates are not changed merely because a template or spelling error changed.

Fleet counts, routes, museum access and other changeable facts are presented as dated snapshots. Visitors should check the linked operator or institution before making travel plans.

Uncertainty

Estimates are labelled as estimates. Conflicting figures are explained rather than averaged into false precision. If a claim cannot be supported by a reliable source, it is omitted or clearly marked as unverified.

Corrections
