I am Alykhan Virani, a Boeing 747 enthusiast and the researcher and editor behind Boeing-747.com.

The purpose of this site is to preserve and explain the history of the 747 in plain English: how the variants differ, how the aircraft’s systems work, who operated it, why it changed long-distance travel, and where surviving aircraft can still be seen.

How I research the site

I start with first-party and institutional material wherever it is available. Typical sources include Boeing technical documents and historical releases, airline fleet disclosures, aviation-authority records, accident-investigation reports, NASA, and the museums responsible for preserved aircraft.

When a reliable primary source cannot be found, I either make the uncertainty explicit or leave the claim out. Current fleet and route information is dated because it can change quickly.

Photographs on the site are used with permission. Many originated on Wikimedia Commons; credits and licence links are retained or added when the original file information can be verified.

Boeing-747.com is an independent enthusiast publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or published by The Boeing Company. “Boeing” and aircraft model names are used descriptively.
