Cargolux Boeing 747 fleet history
Luxembourg’s Cargolux was launch customer for the 747-400F (1993) and 747-8F (2011), and currently operates 26 Boeing 747 freighters — 12 747-400Fs and 14 747-8Fs.
Cargolux, founded in 1970 and based in Luxembourg, has built its entire business around the Boeing 747 freighter and is the largest 747 cargo operator in Europe.
Cargolux ordered its first 747-200F in 1977 and the aircraft arrived in service in 1979 and 1980. Its new-build fleet totals 32 747s: 2 × 747-200F, 16 × 747-400F and 14 × 747-8F.
The airline was the launch customer for the 747-400F in 1993 and the launch customer for the 747-8F, taking delivery of the first 747-8F — flying on GEnx-2B engines — on 12 October 2011.

Today Cargolux operates 26 747s (12 × 747-400F and 14 × 747-8F). It has ordered Boeing 777-8Fs to eventually replace the 747-400Fs.
