El Al Boeing 747 fleet history
El Al operated 26 Boeing 747s — five -100s, twelve -200s, one -300 and eight -400s — famous for nonstop Tel Aviv–New York flights, and retired its last passenger 747 in November 2019.
El Al was one of the earliest 747 operators in the Middle East. Its 747s became famous for direct Tel Aviv–New York flights made possible by Israel’s neighbours closing airspace.
El Al’s 747 fleet totalled 26 aircraft: 5 × 747-100, 12 × 747-200, 1 × 747-300 and 8 × 747-400. The early -100Bs and -200Bs flew long nonstop sectors with reduced payloads.
