Thai Airways Boeing 747 fleet history
Thai Airways International operated 26 Boeing 747s — six 747-200s, two 747-300s and eighteen 747-400s — and retired its remaining 747s between 2021 and 2023.
Thai Airways International flew the 747 on European and Australian routes for more than four decades, building its network around the 747-400 before retiring the type completely in the 2020s.
Thai’s 747 history spans 26 aircraft: 6 × 747-200, 2 × 747-300 and 18 × 747-400. Its first 747-400, HS-TGH, was delivered in February 1990.
The 747-400 fleet peaked at about 18 aircraft in service plus converted freighters, and remained the backbone of Thai long-haul services into the 2010s.

Thai retired its 747s in two waves — 2012 to 2013 and then 2021 to 2023 — and the last 747s left the fleet entirely by 2024.
